Rita Siragusa nasce a Brescia nel 1973. Dopo aver frequentato il Liceo Artistico “V. Foppa” di Brescia, si diploma all’Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera a Milano.
Nel 1995 è invitata al World Peace Arts Festival di Hiroshima. Con Absolut Siragusa partecipa ad Absolut Brera indetto da Absolut Vodka International Collection.
Nel 1998 installa la scultura pubblica Virage Harmony in ferro nel “Parco della Scultura” di Viadana. Tiene la prima mostra personale “In equilibrio con forza tra smontaggio e rimontaggio” in Piazza dei Signori a Verona a cura di A. B. Del Guercio. Il castello di Vigevano ospita la scultura ”Intervista con il ferro 2” a cura di F. Gualdoni.
Nel 2001 Apollo scanner in bronzo entra nella collezione del Museo d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea Castello di Masnago a Varese a cura di C. Ricci. La Galleria Civica d’Arte Contemporanea di Lissone acquisisce una scultura in bronzo. Allestisce una mostra personale al Castello di Sartirana Lomellina. Nel 2002 la scultura monumentale in ferro Dorate barriere delle stelle nel parco pubblico “Torri Gemelle-11 Settembre 2001” a Brescia. “5 personali di scultura” espone a Palazzo Minucci Solaini di Volterra. Nel 2003 a Palazzo Bonoris di Brescia la mostra personale “Un certo incanto” a cura di Flaminio Gualdoni. Nel 2004 è invitata alla XIV Esposizione Quadriennale d’Arte “Anteprima 2003-2005” ospitata nel Palazzo della Società Promotrice delle Belle Arti di Torino a cura di G. Simongini. Intervista con il ferro viene installata sul lungomare di Fano.
Il Castello di Orzinuovi ospita la personale “Oltre il perimetro” a cura di Claudio Cerritelli. Nel 2006 colloca altre due sculture pubbliche: Senza chiave nel Parco Ranghiasci di Gubbio e Campo delle possibilità nel territorio del Comune di Caltavuturo. Viene consacrata la porta in bronzo per la Chiesa di San Fiorano di Brescia. Marco Goldin cura la mostra personale “Di una luce nell’ombra” al Grande Miglio in Castello a Brescia. La scultura Noi due viene collocata nel Parco del Castello di Brescia. Insieme a Ugo Nespolo espone i suoi gioielli a “Lifestyle” di Brescia a cura di R. Zelatore. La fine del secolo breve. “Scena aperta” a Villa Mazzotti Chiari a cura di M. Corradini. Due generazioni a confronto Istituto di Cultura Italiano a cura di G.M. Accame.
Nel 2010 una mostra personale all’Istituto Italiano di Cultura di Monaco di Baviera e in contemporanea allo “Spazio Italia. Air Dolomiti” presso l’aeroporto. La scultura monumentale Traiettorie di luce viene collocata nella rotonda di San Martino della Battaglia. Nel 2011 ottiene il secondo premio al concorso indetto dall’Autostrada del Brennero per la rotatoria in uscita a Verona Nord espone a Palazzo Forti di Verona. 2014 “Memorie dal Sottosuolo” NuovaGalleriaMorone. Il silenzio e l’attesa per un’estetica dell’alterità a cura di C. Muccioli, Convento dell’Annunciata Monte Orfano. 2015 Biennale di scultura a cura di V. Coen, Piazzola sul Brenta. 10 10 15 Resilienze e Subsidenze around the background. Fondazione Orestiadi Gibellina a cura di I. Bignotti e E. Fiammetta. Meccaniche delle Meraviglie Puegnago del Garda a cura di A.Morandi. Contexto-Area Contemporanea Edolo a cura di P. Sacchini.
La sua produzione più recente comprende, oltre alle sculture monumentali, opere grafiche, gioielli e oggetti di design. Insegna all’Accademia di Belle Arti di Brescia “SantaGiulia”, curando mostre e performance, installazioni site specific e interventi scultorei in spazi pubblici e istituzionali. Collabora con un laboratorio artistico nel reparto di Neuropsichiatria infantile presso Spedali Civili di Brescia.

Rita Siragusa was born in Brescia on March 5, 1973 . After the art high school " Vincenzo Foppa " in Brescia , she attended the Brera Art Accademy in Milan, where she graduated in sculptural arts with Igino Legnaghi in 1996.
While she was still a student, in 1991, she partecipated to the Applied Arts Competition at the Cloister of St. John and Castle of St. George in Orzinuovi. In 1995 she was invited at the World Peace Arts Festival in Hiroshima. She also took part to the Absolut Brera competition organized by Absolut Vodka International Collection. In 1996 she participated in the XVI Sacred Art Festival of San Simpliciano in Milan. In 1997 she did a bronze version of Via Crucis for the St. Anthony Church in Foggia.
In the two year period 1998-1999 she worked as laboratory assistant in teaching the “Design and plastic and visual Techniques” course of Holy and Contermporary Art at Brera Academy. In 1999 she attended the "Laboratory of Sacred Art " of Flaminio Taroni in Milan and the "The Atelier of Sacred Art "of Filippo Legnaghi in Verona. In the same year she installed the iron public sculpture “Virage Harmony” in the Sculpture Park of Viadana. She held her first art exhibition called “Rita Siragusa”. Later she held another exhibition called “In equilibrio con forza tra smontaggio e rimontaggio” in Piazza dei Signori in Verona.
In 2001, the bronze piece Apollo scanner became part of the collection of the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art of Masnago Castle in Varese. Civic Gallery of Contemporary Art in Lissone acquired a bronze sculpture from her collection. In the same period she organized and held a personal exhibition in the Sartirana Lomellina Castle. In 2002, her monumental iron sculpture called “ Dorate barriere delle stelle” was located in the public park " Twin Towers - September 11, 2001 " in Brescia. The residential center " Borgo Wurher " acquired her sculpture called “Ancora così” and it was installed in the common area. On the occasion of the event “5 personal sculptures” she was invited to take part to the exhibition at Palazzo Minucci Solaini in Volterra. In 2003, she held another personal exhibition called “Rita Siragusa” at Palazzo Bonoris in Brescia and later the exhibition called “Un certo incanto” coordinated by Flaminio Gualdoni. In 2004 she was invited to to take part to the fourteenth Quadrennial Art Exhibition called “Preview 2003-2005” in the Palace of the Company for Promotion of Fine Arts in Turin . Her piece “Il bronzo, Io e Dio” implemented the collection of the Episcopal Seminary in Trapani. In 2005 she donated the iron and bronze piece called “Campo delle possibilità” to the House for Art " Foundation Paolo Minoli " in Cantù . Her piece “Intervista con il ferro” was installed on the seafront in Fano. Then she held her personal exhibition “Rita Siragusa” in Orzinuovi - Rocca di San Giorgio. She also took part to another art exhibition called “Oltre il perimetro” organised by Claudio Cerritelli and Antonio Zavaglia. In 2006 she placed other two public sculptures “Senza chiave” in Ranghiasci Park in Gubbio and “Campo delle possibilità” in the town of Caltavuturo. Then she donated the bronze piece “Senza titolo” to the Arts Gallery of the Contemporary Art Museum in Vizzini .
In May 2007, at San Barnaba Theatre in Brescia she organised the event “Metallo armonico”, an art, poetry and music exhibition. Later she realised the bronze door of the Church of San Fiorano in Brescia . In the autumn Marco Goldin cared the important exhibition “Di una luce nell’ombra” in the Grande Miglio of Brescia Castle. Then her sculpture “Noi due” was placed in one of the park of the city. Claudio Rizzi invited her to the collective show “ Contemporary Art in Lombardy”. Then she held the exhibition “70's Generation” at the Civic Museum " Parisi -Valle " in Maccagno . Together with Ugo Nespolo she exhibited his jewellery at "Lifestyle"gallery in Brescia. In 2008 she participated to the first sculpture Chiari competition. Then she took part to several exhibition arts such as “Artisti Bresciani”, “La fine del secolo breve” and “Scena aperta” at Villa Mazzotti in Chiari. In 2009, the Diocese of Trapani , invited her to take part to the collective exhibition “Across the Cross“. Then she partecipated to other art shows, such as “From Michelangelo to his contemporaries” and then “Limelight“ at Spazio Tadini in Milan.
In 2010 she took part to the “VII Biennial International Sculpture of the Piedmont Region then to “Umberto Mastroianni”Award , and she held a personal exhibition at the Italian Cultural Institute of Munich and in the same period at “Spazio Italia”. She also organised an exhibition in cooperation with Air Dolomiti in the city airport. The monumental sculpture “Traiettorie di luce” was placed in the roundabout of San Martino della Battaglia. In 2011 she won the second prize in the competition organized by the Brennero motorway for the sculpture to be placed at the motorway exit of Verona Nord. Her projects were shown at Palazzo Forti in Verona . The sculpture “Meno uno” was located in the village of Sirmione. The following year she was present in the ”Astratta due” exhibition group organized by Zappettini Chiavari Foundation. Some of her monumental sculpures was installed in the center of Brescia during the "Days of Design". In 2013, for the 39th anniversary of Piazza della Loggia massacre she was invited to the collective " Nessun Dorma " from the Wave Photogallery in Brescia. She is currently cooperating for the exhibitions “Il silenzio e l'attesa” and “Un'estetica dell'alterità” organised by Cristina Muccioli and Luigi Radici .
Her most recent production includes, in addition to monumental sculptures, graphic works, jewellery and design objects. She works as a Professor for “Santa Giulia Belle Arti Academy” in Brescia and collaborates with the Artistic Laboratory of the Child Neuropsychiatry Department of the Civil Hospital in Brescia.
She currently lives and works in Brescia and Milan.
